A SHEPHERDESS’S TRUTH
A shepherdess cannot force a flock to grow. She cannot use emergency fixes and chemicals. What she can do is create the conditions where health and growth happen: healthy soil, ample green grass, minerals, clean water, sunshine, love, and attention.
Our skin is much the same way. It does not need to be corrected, or ‘fixed’, with an array of manufactured and lab formulated ingredients. It needs to be nourished with natural ingredients to balance it. The skin has a unique intelligence It is consistently adapting. It is our task not to override it, but to provide the support it needs for deep renewal and repair.

Somewhere along the way we were sold the idea that synthetic meant safe: plant based meant healthy: and convenience equaled quality. The response to decades of cheap, lab formulated ingredients, a disregard for sustainability, and unpronounceable chemicals and PUFAs in our food, and skincare, has been a return to simple, pure ingredients provided by Nature. From bloom to root to tallow, Nature offers active ingredients capable of replenishing skin at a cellular level. As stewards of our land, and flock, we are committed to regenerative methods that ensure the long term health of our families.
The Purest Balm
Our founder began raising sheep in western Colorado at ten years old. As an adult, it began with her search for the purest, 100% grass-fed, humanely raised animal protein. When she couldn’t locate it, she decided to raise it herself. In 2016, this led to building a flock of Icelandic sheep and, from there, to the exploration of sheep tallow in skincare. Soon after, the Sheep Tallow Company was born. As demand grew, so did the flock. Our sheep tallow is sourced from our farm and ranch and exceeds all industry standards for animal welfare and natural practices. No harmful chemicals, GMOs, or grains are ever used. Our flock is grass fed, beautiful and well-loved. It provides protein for our community and highly effective, non-toxic, sustainable skincare.
