The Holy Fruit of the Himalayas

Our oil is CO₂ extracted from the small orange berries of the resilient Hippophae rhamnoides shrub, which grows high in the Himalayas at altitudes of up to 12,000 feet. This unique fruit developed an array of nutrients that secured its survival in a harsh environment.

In the 13th century, Sea Buckthorn was included in the Sibu Yi Dian, a Tibetan healing arts book. It was labeled the “Holy Fruit of the Himalayas” and held an important place in traditional medicine.

Berry Oil Versus Seed Oil

Sea Buckthorn Oil can be sourced from either the seed or the berry. Oil made from the berry is thicker and more concentrated. It is highly effective for mature, dry, or damaged skin.

Nutrients for Mature Skin

Sea Buckthorn Oil contains high levels of Vitamin E, phospholipids, and sterols. Two of its most effective components for mature skin are palmitoleic acid and carotenoids.

Skin Regeneration and Barrier Support

The high levels of palmitoleic acid activate skin regeneration and encourage collagen production. This regeneration process supports the healing of scars, rosacea, eczema, and acne.

It increases elasticity, repairs UV damage, and fortifies the skin barrier—all of which promote a healthy glow and smoother skin at every age.

Circulation and Inflammation Support

Sea Buckthorn Oil is also rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid that improves blood circulation and encourages a robust supply of oxygen so toxins can be removed more quickly and inflammation can be calmed.

GLA is most often taken orally for circulation, but Sea Buckthorn Oil easily penetrates the epidermis, offering secondary detoxification support.
